What is API (application programming interface)?
An API is the doorway through which one piece of software talks to another. When your invoicing tool, CRM or calendar has an API, an automation can create, read and update records in it directly, without clicking through screens. Whether a tool has a usable API is the first thing we check when scoping an automation.

Hungarian tools with good APIs
Billingo and Számlázz.hu expose invoicing APIs; most CRMs, e-commerce platforms and Google or Microsoft suites do too. Older on-premise ERPs often do not, which is where RPA or a database bridge comes in.
Frequently asked questions
What if my software has no API?
Options in order of preference: a database connection, file import and export, or RPA that drives the interface. All three work; they cost more to maintain than an API.
